Group A, winning spot still up for grabs.

Hawks Group B Winners

Group C, still an open group.

Congratulations to Hawks who have qualified for the semi-finals as Group B winners with 20 points.

Greenock are assured of 2nd place in that group with 18pts, having completed all 6 games.

They must now await the results in other groups to see if 18pts is good enough to see them through as the best runner-up.

In Group A, any of GHA, Ayr or Hills could still progress, although things could become clearer on the 29th.

Hills probably need to beat GHA if they are to retain a chance of winning the Group, but a 3pt draw for Hills would mean they could still be best runner-up. That of course would depend on the remaining games.

Anything less than 3pts when Hills welcome GHA to Hughenden puts paid to Hills chances of progressing.

Neither GHA nor Ayr can make certain of a place in the semi-finals on the 29th under their own steam, but wins on the 29th could see them both squeeze past Greenock to take pole position for the best runner-up spot. The key to this Group seems destined to be the as yet unscheduled fixture between these two at Braidholm. However, with the turmoil in Group C they could be waiting a wee while longer to find out if they have done enough.

Still with me?!

Group C has been blown wide open by Cartha’s deserved defeat of Hamilton at home, with all four teams still mathematically capable of winning the Group.

There are many imponderables, but one thing we do know is that if Hamilton can pull off a bonus win against West then neither West nor Dalziel could then go on to win the Group.

If, in the meantime, Cartha were to earn less than 2 points against Dalziel, then Hamilton would win the Group - but results so far indicate that nothing can be taken for granted in this competitive group.
